ARTIST: Shanon O’Bracken. 1972,

Shanon is an artist, graphic designer & art facilitator based in Monaseed, Co. Wexford. She creates abstract botanical landscapes full of colour, texture & layers combining painting & printmaking elements using mixed-media.

The variety of the Irish land & seascape provides infinite patterns, shapes & form to explore. Shanon is inspired by the magic of nature from the changing seasons, native botanicals & the beautiful landscape surrounding her home-studio in rural Wexford & of course… the ever changing Irish weather.

A graduate of Art School in 1993, her illustrative style, calming & considered colour palette has developed over her time working in design & illustration in London, Dublin, Wicklow & present day Wexford.

Shanon is also founder of Bracken Arts, Creative Art Workshops for Children, a fun & imaginative arts programme designed to inspire & encourage the creativity in every child through making & creating.

Shanon has recently been selected as a ‘Climate Ambassador’ focusing on sustainability in the Arts. The programme is co-ordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce – The NAtional Trust for Ireland, with support from the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.
